Spin-1/2 Science Comedy brings science alive onstage for children ages 0-130 (we ask that children over age 96 please be accompanied by a younger child.) Our interactive shows explore basic concepts in astronomy, physics, chemistry, biology, and health & nutrition. We aim to show audiences that science is bizarre, endlessly entertaining, and always relevant to our lives. Science comedy is the brainchild of Reality Aside co-founder Eve Armstrong, who conceived the idea while recovering from brain surgery in January 2009. News of a benign tumor had initially inspired panic. But with academic degrees in physics, Eve began applying its principles to learn about her condition. Knowledge inspired confidence. Also familiar with the therapeutic effects of laughter, it struck her that science would be ripe material for a comedy show. What better way to illustrate to people of all ages their connection to science, than to set it onstage to laugh at? For children: Our shows include interactive demonstrations, and tour throughout NY, PA, CT, and NJ. For adults: We offer more maturely-themed shows for groups of 20 or more, in Midtown Manhattan or at your preferred location. Please contact us for details. |
